About the Author / Illustrator Anita Ryanto is a full-time lecturer in the School of InfoComm Technology at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. She has taught foundation drawing and painting with traditional and digital mediums for 11 years. Ryanto holds a degree in illustration from Curtin University, Western Australia, and a diploma in graphic design from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore. A food-aholic and sketching addict, she feels an even stronger passion for drawing now that she has discovered sketching on location. With her constant companions - a sketchbook, a traveller palette, a few pens and a water brush - she is always read to sketch anywhere and at any time.
Praise for Shiok, Sia! "A love of food and art inform Anita Ryanto's watercolour illustrations in her debut collection, Shiok, Sia! Ryanto sniffs at everything that is quintessentially Singaporean in the country's hawker dishes, then commits them to paper - essentially, having the cake and eating it! Skilful, astute and exquisite, the decidedly feminine drawings in Shiok, Sia! take one on a food-tasting tour of Singapore's best-loved dishes." - ZHU HONG, ARTIST
